Dr. Reza Mohaghegh is a Registered Clinical Counselor (RCC) from Canada’s British Columbia Association of Clinical Counselors (BCACC). After graduating from medical school, he entered the field of psychiatry as one of the top 10-percent medical students. At the same time, with the professors’ approval, he taught psychology students at Karaj Azad University. After receiving the board of psychiatry, he treated patients in psychiatric hospitals and inpatient centers and, with his colleagues, played a significant role in setting up and managing the psychiatric department of Tehranpars Hospital. For many years, he cooperated with the welfare organization in the field of addiction treatment. In addition to developing a therapeutic curriculum and group therapy for self-identified addicts, he also opened and supervised the family counseling department for people with an addiction. He also established a well-equipped private inpatient center for addiction treatment and provided psychiatric and counseling services to patients who wanted to recover and free themselves from addiction.
Dr. Mohaghegh participated in a national project on behalf of the welfare organization and the social work association. As a member of the central team, he trained, improved skills, and supervised more than four hundred social workers in six provinces to reduce the divorce rate.
He successfully passed the introductory and secondary family therapy courses by learning counseling and psychotherapy skills from great professors and his great interest in family and spouses. By establishing the psychiatry and psychotherapy center in Mirdamad, he has worked for more than fifteen years in family counseling and couple therapy. More than ten psychotherapists and several social workers and psychiatrists worked and cooperated in his treatment center, and it was one of the reputable and well-known centers in the field of psychotherapy.
His main fields of expertise and experience are family counseling, couple therapy, and individual psychotherapy. Her outstanding experiences include increasing self-awareness, personal responsibility, communication, agreeableness, and mutual solidarity by integrating love and power in resolving conflicts between spouses, parents, and children.
Dr. Reza Mohaghegh advises on many mental disorders, such as anxiety, panic, obsession, stress, depression and mood instability, personality problems and sexual abnormalities. Drug addiction and drug abuse are also the focus of his clinical attention.
He has extensive experience providing workshops, lectures, and psychoeducational courses to promote mental health and enhance life skills.
He is also licensed to supervise and train therapists and mental health professionals who wish to advance their knowledge and experience.
His office is currently in North Vancouver, and in addition to accepting in-person clients, he offers online and phone consultations.
